Audiology comes from the Latin “Audire,” which means “to hear.” As the Latin root suggests, Audiology is the study of hearing and balance. Audiologists diagnose and provide treatment for medical conditions related to the ears.
All of our audiologists hold a Masters or Doctoral degree from an accredited college, have a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, and are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health.
The goal of our audiology division is to present our patients with a variety of hearing device options from various manufacturers so that they can make a more informed decision about which hearing aid best fits their needs.
We recommend a number of hearing aids depending on the patient’s specific needs. One of the most popular aids we recommend is the Starkey hearing aid. Read more about the benefits of the Starkey hearing aid here.
Audiology Conditions we Treat
We treat a number of conditions related to the ear at Andros ENT. Here is a list of some of the audiologic conditions we treat:
- Middle Ear Otitis Media
- Mastoid Bowl
- Inner Ear Dizziness
- Hearing Loss
- Meniere’s Disease
These conditions and symptoms can be mild, moderate, or severe. Similarly, treatments vary significantly from conservative non-surgical treatments like prescription medications, to prescription hearing aids. If the conservative treatments fail, or the condition is severe, surgical intervention can be a successful avenue for treatment.
If you are suffering from any of the above symptoms, we are here to help you get back on the road to better hearing. Call our clinic at 651-888-7888 or fill out our contact form to schedule a hearing evaluation and see what a difference “my kind of care” makes!
